About Wimemo

Building an AI-native memory system for the trips people actually live.

Wimemo is a founder-led company making travel memories easier to keep, understand, revisit, and share on your terms.

Company vision

A one-person company, expanded by AI.

Wimemo is built with the mindset of an OPC: a one-person company that uses AI, automation, and careful product taste to do more without becoming careless. The goal is not to look big. The goal is to stay close to users, move quickly, and keep service quality high.

AI as leverage

AI helps with product thinking, engineering, support, operations, research, and content so the company can stay small while improving faster.

Memory as the product

Photos are the raw material. Places, notes, plans, companions, and context are what turn them into memories.

Users as co-creators

Wimemo grows with real feedback from travelers. The best product decisions come from repeated use, friction, and small moments people care about.

Product vision

AI-native memory management.

Wimemo is not trying to be another generic trip planner or another cloud photo bucket. It is a memory management system that understands how personal memories are formed: where you went, who was there, what you planned, what actually happened, what you wrote down, and which photos still matter later.

Unified media layer

One trip memory, even when the media came from five places.

Modern trips are not captured by one camera roll. A family may have iPhone photos, DJI clips, mirrorless camera shots, laptop exports, and NAS archives. Wimemo's direction is to make those sources feel like one travel memory without forcing people to surrender every original file to a generic cloud bucket.

Phone first, not phone only

Your iPhone remains the natural home for everyday travel photos, but desktop and web import can add media from cameras, drones, hard drives, and NAS.

Time and place as the spine

EXIF time, GPS, trip dates, and location context let Wimemo place external photos and video moments into the same map and timeline as phone media.

Originals stay intentional

External imports can use metadata, lightweight previews, and video poster frames so trips are visible everywhere while originals remain under the user's storage choices.

About the author

Jerry Li, founder of Wimemo.

Jerry Li builds Wimemo as a one-person company assisted by AI, and writes the Wimemo blog and essays: travel photo guides, dated comparisons, and founder notes drawn from shipping the iOS app — on-device photo scanning, automatic trip detection, the Atlas map, duplicate cleanup, selective sharing, and the distribution systems around them. Read his notes on Loop Engineering, debugging a coordinate-system heuristic, and fixing the wrong Search Console number. You can also follow his writing on Medium and Indie Hackers, or reach him at feedback@wimemo.com.

Publishing principles

Product guidance should be testable, dated, and honest about limits.

Wimemo articles are written and reviewed by the product team. AI may assist research, drafting, translation, and editing, but product claims are checked against the current app, website, privacy policy, or measured product data before publication.

First-party evidence

When an article uses Wimemo behavior or metrics, it names the tested workflow, relevant date, and sample size when one exists.

Limits stay visible

Platform requirements, cloud boundaries, unsupported workflows, and meaningful tradeoffs are included instead of hidden behind broad marketing language.

Corrections are part of publishing

Material product changes update the article date and its claims. Readers can report an error at feedback@wimemo.com.

Commitment

The best service is steady, honest, and close to the user.

Wimemo will keep listening, keep shipping, and keep explaining the tradeoffs behind privacy, AI, collaboration, and long-term memory storage. The company exists to create value with users, not extract attention from them.
